Source: American Family Association leader: Muslims are guilty of treason, September 7, 2010
http://iowaindependent.com/42720/american-family-association-leader-muslims-are-guilty-of-treason
Constitutional Connection: Article 3, The Judicial Branch, Section 2, Clause 1
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.”
Explanation of Connection:
Muslims are trying to build a new mosque in the United States but the Supreme Court won’t let them. At first they wanted the mosque to be two blocks from the site of 9/11. Muslim organizations are anti-Constitution and a threat to the United States. So the Muslim groups could be arrested for treason.
This article demonstrates Article 3, Section 2, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution. These people could be arrested for treason because 80% of the mosques report to the same groups that bombed the United States on 9/11. The Supreme Court has the power to prosecute anyone convicted of treason. Another mosque in the U.S. could be another threat to a nation that has already been through so much.
The funny thing is that the Muslims are asking the Supreme Court for permission to build the mosque when the Supreme Court could arrest them for treason. I don’t think the mosque should be built to protect the welfare of the United States. The Muslims already admitted that they want to wipe out the Constitution. I think they should be arrested and convicted of treason.

Source: Senate may ratify UK and Australia treaties, September 9, 2010
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6874UW20100909
Constitutional Connection: Article 2, The Executive Branch, Section 2, Clause 2
“The President shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur.”
Explanation of Connection:
President Barrack Obama is pushing the Senate to for approval of a treaty. Former President W. Bush first signed a treaty with Britain and Australia in 2007. Now President Obama and the United States Senate have almost gotten the treaty passed.
This article demonstrates Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution. This article shows that the President has the power to sign treaties but the treaties don’t go into effect until the Senate approves. The President doesn’t have the sole power to sign treaties. The Senate can stop the President’s decision to sign a treaty.
I think that is important for the different branches of government to check each other. But I don’t think this part of the Constitution is necessary. The treaty process takes too long. Making peace with other countries is an important part of government. The President tried to sign this treaty in 2007 and it is just now almost, possibly going to be passed by the Senate. Peace with other countries would be a lot easier without this part of the Constitution.

Source: Two More Arrested For Using Counterfeit Money, September 3, 2010
http://www.kidk.com/news/102128849.html
Constitutional Connection: Article 1, The Legislative Branch, Section 8, Clause 5
“The Congress shall power to coin money.”
Explanation of Connection:
Two people were caught with counterfeit money. One man was arrested for passing a counterfeit $50 bill. The other man was arrested for being with the man. Counterfeiting money is a federal crime. Only the government can print money.
This article demonstrates Article 1, Section 8, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution. This article shows that people go to jail for printing money. There is only national currency and only Congress has the power to print this currency. There was a similar problem under the Articles of confederation that brought the United States to its knees in debt. Therefore the Constitution was needed to fix this.
Without this section of the United States Constitution, the same thing would happen again. I wouldn’t want to live in a society like that. Almost everyone would be poor and money would be worthless due to inflation. That’s why counterfeiting money is and should be a crime. If everyone made their own money, it would be the same stuff all over again.
